Govt intervention sought

Speakers called for necessary steps for improving the condition of residents of the inaccessible areas where over 20 percent the country’s total population are leading a miserable lives being deprived of opportunities such food, water, education, employment and energy, says a press release. Non-availability of the facilities in some cases is increasing their poverty level, they said, calling for the government’s emergency intervention there.

They made the remarks while addrssing the ‘Result sharing workshop on SDG baseline study and NGO mapping’ at a hotel in the capital’s Gulshan area yesterday.    Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) in association with Christian Aid organised the programme.
