Soumya takes break from action to tie the knot

Soumya shared an image of himself with his bride on his Facebook profile on Thursday night with the caption- ‘coming soon’.

Soumya Sarkar said on Wednesday he is soon going to end his bachelor life. He said that the pre-reception ceremony will be held on February 26 and wedding will take place on February 28. His father Kishori Mohan also confirmed the news to the media. The name of the girl with whom he is getting married though remain unknown, it is reported that the bride is also from Khulna and currently studying and both the families successfully came to a mutual consent regarding the wedding.

The wedding ceremony will take place at Soumya's village home in Satkhira. As Soumya has been preparing for the wedding, he won’t be able to play in the upcoming home Test against Zimbabwe, slated to be played from February 22. He is, however, likely to be available for the ODI and T20I series.

The left-handed batsman also sought leave from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) till February 29. Talking about his leave BCB cricket operation committee chairman Akram Khan said that Soumya sought leave from the Board but the letter is yet to be received.

In the meantime BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu also confirmed that Soumya has been left out of the upcoming Test squad against Zimbabwe.
