SDC-Shomoshti Project, CARE Bangladesh organised a ‘National Level Private Sector Meet’ event at a hotel in the capital’s Gulshan yesterday, says press release. Shomoshti project is supporting its private sector partners to implement pro-poor business models through applying M4P approach. Leading private companies such as PRAN, ACI, Bank Asia, BRAC Bank, Pragati Life Insurance and other renowned private sector companies from livestock, agriculture and finance sectors shared their experiences, success and learning and also explore opportunities for extending future collaboration.

“To achieve the SDG goals, private sector companies need to harness the inclusive business model as they are the growth engine and can bring impact for the last mile farmers”, said Prabodh Devkota, ACD of CARE Bangladesh.  “SDC is collaborating with the private sector for many years and will continue to work more in the future for rural development” Sohel Ibn Ali, senior programme officer, embassy of Switzerland. “Entrepreneurial movement of Bangladesh is uprising and private sectors are moving beyond the CSR boundaries to contribute to this growth” Uzma Chowdhury- Director PRAN RFL and Vice-president of Bangladesh Dairy Development Forum.
