Chiefs of three services inaugurate tree plantation programmes separately

Chiefs of three services—Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force — have inaugurated tree plantation programmes separately on the occasion of birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today.

Of them, Army chief General Aziz Ahmed inaugurated the tree plantation programmes in all cantonments through a videoconference by planting a seedling on the Allah Mosque premises in Dhaka Cantonment.

Bangladesh Army will plant more than three lakh plants this year aiming to increase the forest resources, maintain ecological balance, and make the 100th birthday of the Father of the Nation meaningful.

Meanwhile, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury has inaugurated the tree plantation programme by planting a sapling at the Naval Headquarters in the city’s Banani area today.

At this time Principal Staff Officers of Naval Headquarters, regional commanders of the Dhaka naval zone and other senior officers attended the tree plantation programme.

Besides, Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat has kicked off the tree plantation programme by planting a sapling on the Air Headquarters premises today.
The slogan for this year's tree plantation programme is "Sobuj Brikkho-Nirmal Paribesh, Bangabandhur Bangladesh" (Green trees and clean environment is the Bangladesh of Bangabandhu).
