Anti-British movement leader Jasim Uddin passes away

Anti-British movement leader Jasim Uddin Mondal passed away at a city hospital on Monday morning due to old age complications.

The veteran communist leader breathed his last at 6:00 am at Health and Hope Hospital at Panthapath in Dhaka, said Rubel Ahmed, public relations officer of the hospital.

The 95-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital on September 28, he said. Comrade Jasim was later shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital at 8:47 pm on Sunday as his condition deteriorated.

Born in 1922, Jasim Uddin took part in the anti-British movement.

He joined the Communist Party in 1940.unb
