Chinese film fest, photo exhibition begin today

An eight-day Chinese film-festival and photo exhibition will begin at the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital’s Shahbag area today, as part of series of programmes marking the ‘Year of Friendship and Year of Exchanges’ between Bangladesh and China, reports UNB.

Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu will inaugurate the Chinese film week and photo exhibition on the National Museum premises today at 10am, said an official on Monday.

Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, China Radio International and Chinese Community living in Bangladesh are jointly hosting the event in an effort to make the cultural bonding between the two countries stronger.

Earlier, a three-day pre-event photo exhibition was held from Thursday to Saturday that depicted lovely moments through Chinese and Bangladeshis friends’ cameras.

Bangladesh and China have dedicated 2017 as the ‘Year of Friendship and Exchanges’ between the two countries as they are now heading towards a ‘promising future’.

During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Dhaka visit last year, Bangladesh and China agreed to strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries.
