Two-day ‘Shuddha Sangeet Utsab’ underway at Chhayanaut

Cultural organisation Chhayanaut has organised a two-day ‘Shuddha Sangeet Utsab’ at its main auditorium Dhanmondi in the capital.

Comprising two sessions, the festival has begun yesterday evening and will end tomorrow morning.

Noted music exponent and Guru Manjusree Roy Choudhury from Rajshahi inaugurated the festival as chief guest yesterday, while Chhayanaut vice president Khairul Anam Shakil delivered the welcome speech at the event.

After the inauguration, artistes of Chhyanaut presented a chorus of Raag Asta Kollyan led by Rezwan Ali. Then, noted and promising artistes like Satindranath Halder, Anil Saha, Khairul Anam Shakil Shekhor Mondal, Sheuli Bhattacharjee, Diptee Samadder Dipu and Ebadul Huq Shaikat performed on the opening day of the festival.

Today, on the second day which is also the concluding night, the festival will start at 6pm and continue till next morning.

Veteran and novice vocalists and instrumentalists Khairul Anam Shakil, Md. Moniruzzaman, Rezwan Ali, Asit Dey, Asit Roy, Murtaza Kabir, Jagodananda Roy, Dolon Kanungo, Bizon Chandra Mistry, Shrabanti Dhar, Supriya Das, Abhijit Kundu, Nishit Dey, Proshanta Bhowmik, Bipul Kumar, Tasaouf Islam and artistes of Chhayanut will performed today.
