FIFA chief to visit Bangladesh

Gianni Infantino, the FIFA president, will make a courtesy visit to Bangladesh, though the time is yet to be decided but it has already confirmed that the chief of the FIFA governing body will come here.

Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) confirmed yesterday about the visit of FIFA president when he said that they are now waiting to fix the time and schedule of his visit to Dhaka.

“Actually we are yet to ensure the schedule of the FIFA president’s visit to Bangladesh but as I talked to him during a meeting in a FIFA Summit held in Turkey, he confirmed me to make his visit to Bangladesh.”

“We will chalk out a plan over his visit after having the confirm date, certainly we will make a program to give him a grand reception in a colorful ceremony. But the itinerary will be prepared in accordance following the schedule we will receive from FIFA,” Salahuddin replied to a query.

Meanwhile, the FIFA president Infantino have already visited Vietnam last week.

Gianni Infantino, who holds dual nationality, Swiss and Italian, has been the general secretary of UEFA since 2009 and was elected president of FIFA during the 2016 FIFA Extraordinary Congress on 26 February 2016.   

Infantino started working with UEFA in August 2000 and was appointed as the Director of UEFA’s Legal Affairs and Club Licensing Division in January 2004.

He became Deputy General Secretary of UEFA in 2007 and Secretary General of UEFA in October 2009.
