Cultural arena celebrating 
the day in style

Cultural arena of the country is all set to celebrate the 98th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has organised an eleven-day event titled ‘Bangabandhu Cultural Festival’ on its premises to celebrate the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his birth anniversary.

The festival began from March 7 and will end today.

The eleven-day festival featured art competition, dance performance, recitation, competition on historic March 7 speech, song rendition, theatre and more.

Today’s event will feature an award ceremony of the winner in several competitions, puppet show, film screening, acrobatic show and candle lighting at the National Theatre Hall of the Academy.

Meanwhile, Bangla Academy has organised a day-long programme to celebrate the day, today.

The programme will begin by placing a wreath at Bangabandh’s portrait in Dhanmondi. A function for children and juvenile titled ‘Bangabandhur Golpo Sono’ will be held at Nazrul Manch on the academy premises at 11am.

Shishu Academy organised an eleven day book fair on its premises.

Women and Children Affairs Minister Meher Afroz Chumki inaugurated the fair yesterday as chief guest, where Secretary of the Ministry Nasima Begum was present as the special guest.

Around 66 private publishing houses and seven government organizations are participating in the fair. And the fair will also feature different programmes, including discussions, cultural functions and various completions.
