‘Matir Projar Deshe’ set to be released Mar 23

After roaming several international film festivals, the film ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ (Kingdom of Clay Subjects) directed by Imtiaz Ahmed Bijon, is finally going to hit country cinemas on March 23.

Popular actors Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachi, Mahmudur Aninda and Sheuli Aktar among others acted in the film.

The film shows 10-year-old Jamal carefree boy living with his mother in rural Bangladesh. He becomes isolated and lost when his only childhood friend is forced to become a child bride.

Friendless Jamal faces the harsh reality of the world and his school life collides with his mother’s past.

The film participated in the Seattle International Film Festival, 15th edition of Dhaka International Film Festival, in the sixth edition of Karawan Film Festival in Italy and more.

Earlier, the film ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ won the People’s Choice Award for best feature film at Chicago South Asian Film Festival in 2016.
