Make your own make-up remover

While we love to wear makeup, not many of us know the importance of removing it before hitting the sack. Experts say that going to bed with makeup on does more harm to the skin.

So, the next time you shop for cosmetics, remember to pick up makeup removers as well. If not, here are some natural makeup removers that are readily available at home...

Coconut Oil: This miracle oil is effective in removing facial and eye makeup, like kajal, mascara and eye liner. Apply some organic coconut oil using a washcloth over your face and neck, and wipe makeup off your skin.

Milk And Almond Oil: Add a few drops of almond oil to a tablespoon of milk, and apply this mixture on your face with a cotton ball. This not only removes makeup, but also leaves your skin smooth and hydrated.

Honey And Baking Soda: Pour some organic honey on a washcloth. Sprinkle some baking soda on it. This can remove the most stubborn makeup with a single swipe.

Olive Oil And Aloe Vera: This is highly beneficial for those who have sensitive skin. Mix olive oil with aloe vera juice or gel and dab it on face and neck. You’ll notice that in addition to removing makeup, this mixture moisturises and nourishes your skin.

Jojoba Oil And Vitamin E: Break open vitamin E capsules and pour its contents into 50ml of jojoba oil. Stir well and store it in a clean container. You can use it as a makeup remover and it has a soothing and protective effect on skin.
