Everyday cancer prevention tips!

The scary fact about cancer is that there is no definite reason why it happens. But as per several researches avoiding some habits can keep you safe from the disease.

Have a look!

Avoid eating stale foods

Avoid foods that look or smell bad, as they are likely to contain a toxin called aflatoxin, which is carcinogenic in nature.

Don’t eat a lot of processed meat

Processed meats contain numerous chemicals and preservatives, including sodium nitrates, which make them look fresh but can lead to cancer.

Heating food in plastic containers

Research has proved that heating foods in plastic containers releases cancer-causing agents into the foods and can increase the risk of several disorders like infertility, high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes. Only use containers, bowls and plates that are labelled microwave-safe.

Limit consumption of salt

A diet overloaded with salt is a major cause of some cancers, particularly stomach cancer, research has revealed. Eating just 12g of salt a day doubles the risk of stomach cancer.

Microwaving food

Heating food in a microwave using plastic dishes emit harmful radiations that increase the chance of developing cancer.

Say NO to hydrogenated oils

Hydrogenated oils are packed with unhealthy omega-6 fats that alter the structure and flexibility of cell membranes which has been linked to linked to cancer.

Stop grilling

According to several researches, grilling food can lead to cancer. Burning wood, gas, or charcoal emit chemicals known as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons which can cause skin, liver and stomach cancer.

Say NO to junk food

Fast foods like burgers, pizza and noodles are loaded with trans fat, sugar, spices and contain preservatives, such as nitrates. Consuming them everyday can cause damage at the cellular level and lead to diseases like cancer.

Cut out sugary drinks

According to several researches, sugary drinks may also increase the risk of endometrial cancer. They do not just have sugar, but are also loaded with chemicals. Avoid sugary items to keep diabetes and other chronic diseases at bay.

Avoid alcohol

Alcohol use is the second leading cause of cancer. Drinking even just one drink a day can increase the chance of developing mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, mouth, rectum and breast cancers.
