Getting cold and flu along with the change in season is quite common but are you someone who catches cold every now and then, regardless of the season? If yes? Do not worry, you are not the only one.

If you want to know why that happens, read further.

1. You don’t wash your hands properly

Common cold can be easily transmitted from one person to another.

For example, the germs get to the table from your hand and from the table to someone else’s hand and then their system. According to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, hand washing should be done for at least 20 seconds. People should wash their hands before eating, after using the toilet, after caring for someone who is sick, after coughing and touching anything dirty.

2. You have a weaker immune system

Needless to say, people with a compromised immune system are prone to getting sick often. Sometimes this can be due to an autoimmune problem, some diseases or certain medications.

3. You are dehydrated

Dehydration makes one’s immune system weak and thus putting them at the risk of getting sick. Keeping yourself hydrated is one easy way to ensure a healthy immune system.

4. You touch your face

The easiest way for the germs to get in your body is through your hands. If your hands have germs because you don’t wash them often, touching your face can transfer those germs to your mouth and thus your system.

5. You are allergic

Underlying allergies can make cold even more miserable. Not only this, they can also trigger the symptoms of cold every now and then. If your cold doesn’t get fine within seven days, you must check with a doctor if you have any allergy.
