West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell on Monday said that they want to carry on the momentum into the next two games and finish their Bangladesh tour on high note.

The remaining two matches of the T20 series will be played in Dhaka on December 20 and 22 respectively.

“Definitely, we would like to take this momentum into the next two games and finish our tour here,” Sheldon Cottrell said.

“That has been the talk in the camp, just to win some games and get better mood going. This game is like a platform for to take into the two games,” Cottrell told media after winning the first match of the T20 series.

The paceman said that they had no plan to launch their assault against Bangladesh batsmen with the barrage of short ball rather they had planned to bowl aggressive in whatever they do that paid them dividend.

“Our plan in this game was to just bowl aggressive in whatever we do, whether bowling Yorkers, length ball, short ball,” he said, adding that just to bowl aggressive and it paid off.

Cottrell meanwhile became popular among the Bangladesh fans for his discrete celebration what he did after taking his wicket.

the bowler has a straightforward confession about his celebration, “The salute came from... I am a soldier in the Jamaican defence force, so it’s a way of showing my appreciation to my co-workers. I know am on international duty, so it’s a way of showing appreciation.”

When asked about the wicket, Cottrell said, “I won’t say happy. We just played cricket on the day. I don’t know if it was slow or fast or bouncy or whatever. We just played cricket on the day. We decided to just come out and play hard cricket. Whatever we do we do it hard. That’s just it.”

“It wasn’t surprising at all. Shai Hope has been in form for a while now, he’s currently eighth in the ODI ranking as a batsman. I mean once you are in form as a batsman you gotta cash in, and he showed a perfect example of that.”

“We’re having fun as West Indian boys do. Laughing, mocking each other. It was all smiles.”

“As I said it’s a different format and most of the guys are looking forward to go home. It’s closer to home and so we play our best cricket now. We just come together, it was just cricket on the day for me.”
