2019 is the year of political revolution, with Lok Sabha Elections just round the corner. The impact of the galvanised political climate has not stayed away from the winds of Bollywood, as biopics after biopics are ready to hit the screens this year.

While a biopic on former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray is already underway, titled ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and ‘Thackeray’ respectively, a biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announced last week and its first look revealed on Monday.

Vivek Oberoi, who is now known as Vivek Anand Oberoi, will be portraying Narendra Modi on screen. The poster was launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Vivek Oberoi’s father and yesteryear actor Suresh Oberoi, director Omung Kumar and producer Sandip Singh along with Vivek Oberoi at an event in Mumbai on Monday.

The poster has resulted in a war on social media as hilarious reactions have emerged on Twitter and other platforms. Have a look!

The film titled ‘PM Narendra Modi’ will be directed by Omung Kumar, who has earlier directed biopics like Sarbjit and Mary Kom. The film will trace the major life events of the Indian Prime Minister. Vivek Oberoi, who was last seen in a full-fledged Bollywood film in 2017’s ‘Bank Chor’, will be making his comeback in a lead role this year.

In the previous years, Vivek Oberoi has been concentrating on his career down South. The actor, who is the highest paid Bollywood actor in Tamil cinema, played the antagonist to Thala Ajith’s hero in the film ‘Vivegam’ in 2017.

PM Narendra Modi, the biopic, is prepared to hit the screens this year, probably before the general elections. l
