‘Robber’ killed in Kishoreganj ‘gunfight’

A suspected robber was killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Ujanchar Beelpar area in Bajitpur Upazila on early Friday, reports UNB.

Police named the deceased as Arshaf Uddin, 30, son of Bachchu Mia, from Bhairab Upazila’s Manikdi area. He is accused in several robbery cases.

A police team raided Beelpar around 2:30 am after being tipped-off about a drug deal taking place there, said Md Shariful Islam, additional superintendent of Kishoreganj police.

“Our team came under fire as soon as it reached the spot,” he said.

“Arshaf was killed during a skirmish that followed.”

Police recovered a shotgun, 100 yaba pills, 15 phensedyl bottles and five bullets from the spot, Shariful added.
