Fire burns Nat'l Jute Mills in Sirajganj

Around 400 bales of jute were gutted in the fire that broke out at National Jute Mill at Raipur in Sadar upazila on Wednesday, reports UNB.

The fire was ignited at the loom section of the mill around 6:30 am and spread soon, said Abdul Hamid, deputy director of Sirajganj Fire Service.

On information, five firefighting units went to the spot and extinguished the blaze after four hours of frantic effort.

However, the reason behind the incident could not be known immediately.
