4-day Parbotto Mela begins at BSA today

A four-day Parbotto Mela-2019 (Hilly Fair) will begin today on the open yard of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.

The Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is going to arrange the fair aiming to introduce the lifestyle, culture, tradition and history of the hill dwellers among the people living in plain land, a PID handout said.

Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest at 3 pm today while Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing will be present.

A total 93 stalls of local and international organisations will be set up in the four-day fair. The Parbotto Mela will remain open for all from 10 am to 10 pm every day.
