A woman was killed and 2 others were injured as a bus ran over them in front of Silabari bridge in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur district on Monday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Rafeja, a resident of the area.

Mijanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Nagarkanda police station, said a passenger bus hit the trio on Faridpur-Chandhat regional road around 11 am, leaving Rafeja dead on the spot and two others injured.

The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital.

Angered by the accident, locals blocked the road with a tree log, disrupting vehicular movement for an hour.

On information, the police brought the situation under control.
