Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal emphasizes on their mental preparedness how they can overhaul healthy total which will be scored in almost every matches of the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup-2019 in United Kingdom (UK).

Along with that, Tamim said that bowlers will play a vital role to determine the course of the match on England condition, in where a team could easily score below 300 or 300 on the board.

Admitting the reality of Bangladesh team, the hard-hitter batsman also said that they are not accustomed to chase such a big total whether it is at home or aboard. But fewer than 300 or 300 are chaseable score on that batting-friendly English wickets what they try to work it out now.

“It’s true that we are not used to chasing 340-350.

Along with that, we also know that we have to chase 280-300-320 in every match of the World Cup. So, we have to work it out,” said Tamim Iqbal.

“And for this, such training session is being held for us before flying for the two back-to-back international tournaments. We’ve to play four matches in Ireland but if we can go the final, in that case, we have to play five matches that are so important before World Cup. If we will get chance how we execute the plan in Ireland. So, we have to mentally prepare that we have to chase big total in World Cup,” Tamim told media after their practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla Natinal Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur yesterday.

“I think, if we want to restrict our opponent to 300, bowlers have to bowl very well. It might be exceptional one-two days where you bundle your opposition out for 240-250. 300, I think, is chaseable score in England. So, we have to prepare ourselves for that,” he added.

“It will be seen if we scan through our cricket history that we didn’t have much more records to chase such big total. Hopefully we could be executed the plan properly what it is given to us.”

When asked about training camp at home condition for World Cup, Tamim said that it could provide at least assists them in their physical fitness.

“Probably, it’ll be totally different weather. But one thing is that we’re doing our hard work here. It’ll really be very challenging for running, batting, fielding and gym under such weather. After doing such practice when we’ll go under such weather, it’ll at least help us from physical fitness,” he opined.

“So, it’s seemed to be me that these are the times where we put the hard work. And everybody tries their own ways. That’s all. We’ve some other practice sessions ahead,” he added.

The left-handed batsman said that the condition in Ireland will be challenging for them as they don’t have get much opportunities to play on that condition.

The south-paw also said that the initial seven days along with practice matches will be crucial for them to play in triangular series.

“The condition in Ireland will be challenging, I think because Ireland is such a country, where we don’t have play so many crickets. Last time when I went there to play, the wickets were not so easier for batting. It’s difficult,” the 30-year-old batsman said.

“So, it deems to me that the initial seven days and practice matches will be crucial. It’ll also be important how we start our opening match because there will be remained our opponent, West Indies- who will also be played there are in good form. So, it’s important to start the tour well, with the practice game and then the first game,” he singled out.
