Cadet College Club Lit Society formed

Cadet College Club Lit Society (CCCLS) has recently been formed as a part of ex cadets’ dedication and contribution to the literary arena of Bengali society, said a press release.

Chaired by eminent writer-playwright Architect Shakoor Majid, a 10-member management committee of CCCLS was formed at a meeting at Cadet College Club Ltd (CCCL) in the capital’s Gulshan area on Thursday. Other members of the committee include co-chairs Ekram Kabir, Lutful Hossain and Kazi Ahmad Pervez, treasurer Masud Bulbul, member secretary Avik Sanwar Rahman and executive members Miraj Ul Islam, Quamrul Hassan, Tahmina Shabnam Haque and Sabiha Rahman Jeetu.   

The Lit Society is formed by the CCCL members to organise literary activities and to enrich literary genius of the members, spouses, family members and other ex-cadets. 

The CCCLS will publish Lit Mag quarterly basis to facilitate CCCL Lit Society authors.

Children will be encouraged to write in English and Bangla.

The Lit Society will organise reading circles and literary events. The society will invite famous literary personalities to discuss various literary aspects, issues, analysis, writers and techniques at a symposium. 

The society will organise the Dhaka-Kolkata lit festival and also an international lit festival. 

The organisation will attend international fairs to promote its members’ books. 

The CCCLS will publish books written by the authors and also anthology from the member authors. 

The society will act as a catalyst for the members’ internal development and to boost the image of the club externally.
