While the hosts Ireland will fight against the under-strength West Indies in the opener of the Tri-nation series at the Castle Avenue Cricket Club Ground, Clontarf in Dublin, Bangladesh will then warm-up against Ireland Wolves in the practice match in the same city before their matches against the West Indies and the hosts Ireland in the series.

The one-off 50-over practice match will be played at the Hills Cricket Club Ground in Dublin at local time 10:45am (4.45pm BST).

The trophy of the three nation tournament, sponsored by Walton, was unveiled in Dublin yesterday. Captains of the three teams jointly unveiled the trophy.

Cricket Ireland meanwhile announced their 12-member Wolves squad led by Harry Tector for the practice match against Bangladesh.

In addition, Tector led Ireland Wolves in their last tour (January, 2019) to Sri Lanka.

Middle-order batsman James Shannon, who came into the squad from his injury layoff along with fast bowler Tyrone Kane have been brought up for the warm-up match.

Andrew White, chairman of national men’s selectors, said “With the Wolves match against Bangladesh on at the same day as Ireland plays West Indies, this will provide selectors will be a rare opportunity to see 22 of the best Irish cricketers playing at the same time against world-class opposition.”

“Harry Tector will retain leadership of the Wolves side, after impressing with his captaincy in Sri Lanka and his stand-out performances in La Manga last week. There were several other eye-catching performances in La Manga with Mark Adair having an outstanding few days of Cup action, and we are excited to see what he can offer moving forward,” White told about the Wolves squad.

“It’s also good to welcome James Shannon and Tyrone Kane back from injuries – both players will hopefully use the opportunity to get back into form after their lay-offs.”

“Selectors will be paying close attention to the Wolves game, and performances at this level may well see opportunities open up at a higher level during the season.”

Basically Bangladesh are getting opportunity to make their adjustment with the weather and condition of Ireland through the practice match. The Tigers will embark on their tri-nation series against the West Indies led by Jason Holder at the Castle Avenue Cricket Club Ground, Clontarf in Dublin on May 7.

Steve Rhodes along with his coaching staffs were appeared at the Pembroke Cricket Club Ground with the entire Tigers contingent. The players poured their sweats by practicing batting, bowling and fielding as a part of preparation for the games of the tri-nation series prior to the looming ICC Cricket World Cup, England and Wales-2019.
