Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader returns home today after taking treatment from a Singapore hospital, reports BSS.

“A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG 085) will carry him back home at 6 pm tomorrow (Wednesday),” AL acting general secretary Mahabub-Ul-Alam Hanif, MP, told journalists at a press conference after a secretariat meeting of the party and its other associate bodies at AL President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office, Dhaka yesterday.

He said, “Awami League General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is now quite well. He would be able to perform his political works like before.”

Earlier, on March 3 last, the AL general secretary was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital here after suffering breathing complications.

Tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery and subsequently, he was flown to Singapore for better treatment.

Quader underwent bypass surgery on March 20 there.
