Many of the people, the children and teenagers, in particular, are still celebrating the Eid festival in the city although the celebration day was on Wednesday.

Great rush has been witnessed in recreational spots of the city from the last few days to enjoy the happy occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr.

They were seen visiting the entertainment spots, especially the bank of the river Padma, amid joy and enthusiasm making the spots overcrowded till Saturday. ; Rainey Theme Park, the first indoor park of the city was the top choice for the children.

Lots of amusing rides, toy train, video games and especially jungle house brought more joy to the children.    

 “It’s really very exciting as well as the very first time experience to enjoy Eid at an indoor recreational spot in the city,” said Sazidur Rahman, who had come to the Rainey Theme Park along with his family.

Rumila Islam Swatee, an owner of the Rainey Theme Park, informed that people rushed to the indoor park every day, however, they have to stay busy to manage the crowd of any special days like Eid.

Due to the long holiday of this Eid-ul-Fitr, the park was overcrowded till now from the Eid day, Swatee added.   

People also rushed to Shahid AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo, Zia Shishu Park, Varendra Research Museum, Shemante Abakash, Shemante Nongor, Vadra Park, Padma Garden and Borokuthi Wi-Fi Zone to enjoy their festivities. All the parks were almost packed to capacity.

Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo and Borokuthi Padma Riverbank were decorated with new look and amusement flavour to attract more visitors.

However; children enjoyed several fun rides, including toy trains, merry-go-round and numbers of wheel-based rides. Children, young boys and girls wearing colourful dresses gathered in these places where small temporary shops were set up to sell different foods and toys.

Authorities of different recreation centres in the city informed that a huge number of people coming for passing time and sharing joys of Eid.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, the district, upazila and police administrations took adequate security measures to celebrate the festival in a peaceful way.

BSS adds: Padma River bank adjacent to the Saheb Bazar area of the city has also turned into an attractive tourist and recreational spot after implementation of a beautification project by Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).

Under the project, amusement spots, open stage, gallery, park, bridge, walkway and other need-based infrastructures were constructed at a cost of around Tk 4.22 crore. The spots were also decorated with a new look to attract more visitors and facilitate cultural organisations to arrange various programmes to attract the rushing people and other visitors.

New infrastructure and facilities are encouraging an increased number of people to pass their recreation time and leisure periods with families and friends enjoying the beauty of the Padma.

Children, young boys and girls wearing colourful dresses gathered these places where small makeshift shops were set up to sell different homemade foods and toys. Eid gatherings of children and cultural functions were also held at different areas in the city.
