Awami League’s former State Minister for Home Affairs Tanzim Ahmed Sohel Taj yesterday alleged that one of his nephews named Sayed Iftekhar Alam Prakash (Sourav) was kidnapped from Chattogram Medical College Hospital area on June 09.

Sohel Taj, son of Bangladesh's first Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad, in a post on his verified Facebook page said Sourav is the son of one of his maternal cousins.

He also requested those who have kidnapped Sourav to return him to the family. He said, “I request those who have carried out this incident to return Sourav to his family.

Otherwise, your identity will be disclosed in public. We know who are acting behind the scenes.”

Taj also mentioned that a general diary was filed with the Panchlaish Police Station in Chattogram city on June 10. The complaint bears the GD number 520.

He also posted a picture of ‘kidnapped’ nephew Sayed Iftekhar Alam Prakash. When contacted, Abul Kashem Bhuiyan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchalaish Police Station, said they were looking into the incident and that they have no development as of now to share with the media.
