Artistes of China and Bangladesh to stage two Tagore plays today

Promoting the mutual understanding and friendship between China and Bangladesh, Chinese Embassy in Dhaka is going to launch the China Culture Month 2019 programme which is set to kick off today. The month-long programme features drama exchange of China-Bangladesh University students, China-Bangladesh theme cultural exhibition.

As a part of the China Culture Month 2019 programme, artistes of China and Bangladesh are going to stage Rabindranath Tagore’s two popular plays at the Experimental Theatre Hall Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital today.

Peking University of China will stage play ‘Chitra’ at 4pm, while Loko Natyadal from Bangladesh will stage ‘Rath Yatra’ at 6:30pm.

Directed by Hou Jue, the play ‘Chitra’ has been written by Pan Ayuan.

On the other hand, written by Rabindranath Tagore, Liaquat Ali Lucky has directed the play ‘Rath Yatra’.

The cast of the play includes Abu Bakar Bakshi, Bipul Kumar Das, Masud Sumon, Azizur Rahman Sumon, Musa Rubel, Fazlul Haque and others.
