Two children were killed and six people injured in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in Teknaf municipality area in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased were identified as Mehedi Hasan, 11 , son of Rabiul Alam and Alifa,5, daughter of Mohammad Alam of Puratan Pallanpara area in the upazila. 
 
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Rabiul Hasan said a chunk of mud fell on the houses at the foot of a hill in the morning, leaving eight people injured.

Doctors at Teknaf upazila health complex declared the two children dead when they were taken to the hospital, he said. 

Among the injured, one was admitted to the health complex while others were given first aid.
