Returning to the national fold after nearly two years, nothing in the dressing room deems align to right-arm medium fast-bowler Shafiul Islam rather he showed his sublime bowling performance on his comeback Twenty20 match against Zimbabwe in the ongoing tri-nation Twenty20 series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram

Shafiul yet another proved his genre and difference than the other pace bowlers in the country by grabbing three  wickets on his comeback match against Zimbabwe, the match which was much-needed for Bangladesh to cruise into the tri-series final.

Bangladesh against the same opponents in Dhaka won the match that was the curtain raiser of the three-nation meet though Shafiul was not part of it. By the instrumentality of winning the match, the Tigers stemmed not only the losing streak but also the flakes of the people what was started after the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, held in the United Kingdom (UK).

Whatever strategy Bangladesh adopt in the pre-final match against Afghanistan, Shafiul Islam said that they will play for winning because the habit of winning will keep them at advantageous position Tigers in the next and decisive match of the tri-series.

The pacer also said that if he is given the responsibility once again against Afghanistan, he will give his possible best efforts for the team's success.

“I’ve played for the national team. But it’s true that there is a different feeling inside me being returned to the fold after a long gap of time,” said Shafiul Islam, who played so far 13 T20Is along with 59 ODIs and 11 Tests.

“It’s better to stay free from it as much as possible. I’ve tried to remain free and stay myself in the field. By doing this, if we can perform well and put pressure lesser than other times. I just try to be relaxed right now,” Islam told media at the pre-match day practice session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram yesterday.

“The team management will decide whatever strategy (spin or pace) will be taken against Afghanistan. In that case, the bowlers have to bowl in right areas according to strength. And, it’s possible to fare well against them,” he added.

“A coach doesn’t try to bring in any change in any player’s bowling or batting during a tournament. The thing I have in store try to apply them accurately. Bowlers can perfectly implement their bowling. He focuses more on it.

“Bowling will depend on match situation. Sometimes bowling might be for checking runs. Again, it might only be taking wickets.

“Actually I try to be injury free. Whenever I get the chance, I try to give something for the country. Actually I try to deliver my possible best performance. I toiled hard so that I don’t have fallen into injury.”

“I’ve played one-day in Sri Lanka after a long gap. From the team management, senior players to coaching staff, everybody supports me. Actually that helps me much to perform in international cricket despite being returned after a long layoff. Everybody support me from team management, senior players, coach and captain.”

“Of course, there will be a planning for us for which the team management prepared for us all. The more we bowled well the more it’ll be easier for the batsmen. Our efforts will be there to restrict them to a paltry total. The responsibilities we have as a pace bowler try to perform it.”

“Whoever play the match will try to give our best as a pace department. As a pace bowler, I try to give my best effort for the team. That’s our target.”

“In the current situation, I feel comfortable in all balls. The performance has been better with the pace of the day. The bad time might come. I’ll try to overcome the bad days if come.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    HM
