BSF kills two cattle traders in 6 days

Two Bangladeshi cattle traders have been shot dead near the Jhenidah border by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel of India in the past six days.

According to BGB, one Sumon Hossain (25) was gunned down near border pillar 60/133-134 at Shilgate near Hanshkhali in West Bengal’s Nadia district. BGB 58 battalion deputy commander Qamrul Hasan said Sumon had gone to the Indian territory to bring back his cattle around 4am.

He was gunned down by BSF personnel from the Pakhiura camp when he arrived near Shilgate.

Sumon’s body was lying in BSF custody, and BGB has written to their Indian counterparts to bring it back home.

Earlier, BSF personnel had shot dead another Bangladeshi cattle trader, Abdur Rahim, of Bauli village of Moheshpur upazila near main pillar 60.
