The curtain will fall on the five-day theatre festival ‘IDLC Theatre Festival’ today on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital.

On the closing day, today, theatre troupe Arshinagar will stage its play titled ‘Rahu Chandler Har’—an adaptation of Abhijit Sen’s novel. Directed by Reza Arif, the play depicts the story of the gypsy community, which has lived on the margins of society across the Indian sub-continent. The play will be staged at 5pm at the Experimental Theatre Hall of BSA.

On the other hand, Theatre (Bailey Road) will stage its highly-acclaimed production ‘Payer Awaj Pawa Jay’ at 8:30pm at the National Theatre Hall of BSA, as a part of the festival.

Directed by late theatre personality Abdullah Al Mamun, ‘Payer Awaj Pawa Jay’ is one of the masterpieces by prolific writer Syed Shamsul Haq.

With an aim of celebrating the long heritage of theatre in Bangladesh, Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited (IDLC) has organised the festival.
