We will be happy if our party high-ups give responsibility of the organization to those who are competent and experienced.”  “As our party chief (Sheikh Hasina) started a drive to root out corrupt and dishonest leaders as well as infiltrators from the party and its associate bodies, I will request our leader not to induct such people in the new committee,” said ex-BCL leader Mohammad Alam.

When contacted over the upcoming council, Sheikh Ali Azgar said, “I am the son of a freedom fighter. I have sacrificed a lot for Awami League. Besides I worked for the Awami Matsyajibi League since its inception.
