Ashiq-starrer ‘Indubala’ hits cinemas today

Starring young actor, theatre and mime artiste Ashiq Chowdhury, new film titled ‘Indubala’ is all set to hit country’s cinemas today. Directed by Joy Sarkar, the film will be released in more than 10 cinema halls around the county, the actor informed.  With the story of the film written by veteran actor Masum Aziz, the screenplay of ‘Indubala’ is written by Joy Sarkar himself.

Newbie actress Payeliya Payel will be seen playing the titular role in the film.


In ‘Indubala’, Ashiq plays the role of Babla, the son of a landlord. He falls in love with Indubala. As the story develops, taking blessing from his mother, Babla leaves village with Indubala to establish her in the city. The story of the film moves forward from this point.

Ashiq said regarding his latest venture, “When director Joy Sarkar narrated the story of the film to me, I instantly expressed my interest to work in the film. Because the story moves forward with the chemistry between my character (Babla) and Indubala. I have tried to portray my role as lively as possible.”

“This is my seventh film and I am quite optimistic about it. I hope the audience will like the film”, the actor added.  Alongside Ashiq and Payel in the lead roles, the film also casts Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shahidul Alam Sacchu, Anisur Rahman Milon, Shamima Nazneen and Sadek Bacchu, among others, in different characters. lPhoto courtesy l Alif Hossain Rifat
