Kolkata based theatre troupe Nandipat will stage its latest production ‘AAbritto’ today at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital. The play will be brought to the stage as a part of the theatre festival ‘Prangane Mor Dui Banglar Natya Mela 2019’ on the second day.

The play ‘AAbritto’ revolves around the struggle of four people, who are associated with Jatra, to survive co-dependently and establish their self-respect. The play has been written by Tirthankar Chanda and directed by Prokash Bhattacharya.

With the slogan ‘I love in Bangla, I love Bangla’, the 11th edition of festival ‘Prangane Mor Dui Banglar Natya Mela 2019’ has begun yesterday on the BSA premises.

Prominent cultural personality and actor Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the nine-day festival yesterday, where State Minister of Cultural Affairs K M Khalid attended the ceremony as chief guest and High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das was present as special guest at the ceremony.

Organised by the country’s popular theatre troupe Prangane Mor, the festival is supported by Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh and High Commission of India.

Like the previous years, the latest edition of Prangane Mor’s festival will present nine theatrical productions during the nine-day festival.

This year, four theatre troupes based in West Bengal and Delhi and five prominent troupes from Bangladesh are participating in the festival.
