Pro-AL lawyers declare panel

Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Samannay Parishad, a platform of pro-Awami League lawyers, declared its panel yesterday for the upcoming Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) executive committee elections. Incumbent SCBA president Advocate M Amin Uddin picked for the president post in the upcoming poll for the second time while Advocate Shah Monjurul Hoque nominated for the post of secretary. Newly-elected Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh declared their names with 12 other members as a panel in the Supreme Court auditorium in the afternoon. Supreme Court lawyers gave felicitation to the DSCC mayor Taposh.

The SCBA poll is likely to be held on March 11 and 12.

Earlier, pro-BNP lawyers, under the banner of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya, declared their panel with Advocate Joynul Abedin and Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajol for the post of president and secretary respectively.

M Amin Uddin and AM Mahab Uddin Khokon are incumbent presidents and secretary of the committee respectively.
