Bashar’s mother passes away

Former captain of Bangladesh national cricket team and one of current Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selectors Kazi Habibul Bashar Sumon’s mother Rizia Begum died of old age complications  yesterday at the age of 72.


 Rizia Begum breathed her last at around 1pm Saturday at her hometown in Kushtia.

She left behind six sons including Habibul Bashar, two daughters and a number of well wishers to mourn her death.

The BCB and other associations affiliated to cricket extended their heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the salvation of her departed soul.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses profound sadness at the passing away of Rizia Begum, mother of former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Kazi Habibul Bashar.

Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Habibul Bashar’s then national team compatriot and also the current MP of Bangladesh JS expressed the saddest condolence for the departed soul.

Earlier in 2018, Sumon’s father Kazi Motaleb Uddin passed away at the age of 85 while his elder brother Kazi Ekramul Bashar Tuhin, a former Mohammedan goalkeeper died of stomach cancer in 2016 at the age of 53.
