Dohatec delivers phase ll of e-GP system for Bhutan

Dohatec New Media, a leading software company of Bangladesh, has developed  the phase ll of an electronic government procurement system for Bhutan which was launched on Tuesday in Thimphu.

Lyonpo Namgay Tshering, finance minister of Bhutan, launched the phase ll of an e-GP system which was first launched in 2017 and has been operational there since then.

The system incorporates extensive features by using the national IT infrastructure while the resources of different agencies are integrated in the e-GP system, according to a press statement.

Almost all types of e-Procurement Modules are in the systems. Online Bid opening and complete Bid Evaluation system are also integrated here.

Bhutan has high capacity in public procurement in their civil administration.

The e-GP system enjoys a special thrust in their strategy, said the finance minister.

Luna Shamsuddoha, chairman of Dohatec New Media, presented an overview of the e-GP system and highlighted how important public procurement was to the economy of developing countries.

The launching ceremony was held at a conference hall and also virtually with a host of distinguished organisations, including the World Bank and ADB.

Kesang Deki, director general of Department of National Properties, gave the welcome address and highlighted the benefits of e-GP for all stakeholders, a press statement said.
