Uncapped players to get individual training facilities after Eid

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is trying hard to resume cricketing activities in the country. And to do that, they provided with individual training facilities for the national cricketers who took the opportunity in the major cricketing venues across the country.

Akram Khan, the chairman of cricket operations of BCB, on Wednesday, said that the uncapped players and the players, who are not considered in the national pool anymore, will also get the individual training facilities if they apply.

“If a player applies to get training alone in any venue, we will arrange facilities for him,” Akram Khan told the media.

He also said that it’s not required to play for the national team to get the facilities to train alone in this pandemic.

BCB had discouraged outdoor practice during this pandemic. But the cricketers requested the board to provide with the facilities so that they can train alone. BCB responded positively by providing training facilities at major cricketing venues across the country.

Along with Dhaka, a total of 14 cricketers joined this individual training programme in Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi and Chattogram.

Cricketers like Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Shafiul Islam, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Nurul Hasan Shohan, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed had joined the programme.

Meanwhile, at least 14 international matches of Bangladesh have been postponed due to coronavirus. They include five Tests which are part of the ongoing World Test Championship. All of these matches are slated to be rescheduled for future dates.

In the meantime, BCB is trying to play the three-match Test series with Sri Lanka in October, which is a part of the ongoing World Test Championship.

The ICC postponed the T20 World Cup 2020, which was scheduled to be played in Australia in October this year.

After this postponement, BCB and Sri Lanka cricket are in discussions to play the series which was postponed due to the pandemic. The series was originally slated to be played in July-August.
