Antiviral face mask ‘Turag Protex’ now in market

Urmi Group launched a three-layered antiviral and antimicrobial face mask ‘Turaag Protex’ to help people get world-class personal protection during the coronavirus pandemic.

Swiss Technology HeiQ Viroblock was applied to manufacture the mask which is capable of killing 99 per cent viruses, said a press release issued by Urmi group on Tuesday.

The ingredients used for the middle layer of this mask are proven by ISO 18184: 2019 test to achieve 99.9 per cent virus inactivity in a matter of minutes. The ‘Turaag Protex’ mask is tested and proven by a neutral organization following ISO 18184: 2019 policy, the statement added.

Made with reusable fabric, it is possible to wash the mask and use it up to 25 times.

It is also very soft and comfortable for long time use.

‘Turaag Protex’ antiviral and antimicrobial face mask are available for men and women in different colors. This mask will also be available for children soon.

The anti-viral mask is made with three layers of fabric. The outer layer fabric can prevent any water droplet to pass through. The middle layer fabric is treated with HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 which can destroy viruses. The last outer layer is made of a special waterproof fabric that can protect against tiny water particles from sneezing and coughing, according to the statement.

The release also said prolonged use of this mask does not cause any problem in breathing. Also, since the mask has a nose bridge over the nose and an adjustable string for ear, the mask sticks to the face in such a way that no germs or dust can enter from outside. It should be noted that the nose bridge will prevent glasses from blurring that occurs often when one uses a mask with their glasses.

“We have produced antiviral face masks at affordable prices realising the needs of the people of Bangladesh,” said Asif Ashraf, managing director of Urmi Group.

“Recently, we have launched ‘Turaag Protex’, an international standard antiviral and antimicrobial face mask, as the first high performance mask in Bangladesh,” he added.
