Beximco Group recognized as largest exporter of Janata Bank

State-owned Janata Bank Limited recognized Beximco Group as the ‘largest exporter and best customer’ of 2020.

The Group has become the largest exporter of the bank by exporting goods worth Tk4,700 crore last year.

Abdus Salam Azad, managing director and CEO of Janata Bank Limited, handed over a trophy to Beximco Group Director and CEO Syed Naved Husain at the bank’s head office in the capital on Thursday, the lender said in a statement.

The board of directors of the bank nominated Beximco Group for the award as Janata Bank made highest profit from the company in 2020.

In 2020, the total export of Beximco Group through Janata Bank was Tk 4,714 crore. Of this, Beximco Limited’s exports amounted to Tk 2,327 crore.

The bank earned about Tk 484 crore from the group in 2020.

Of this, the income from restructured and rescheduled loans has been around Tk 427 crore.
