BTRC officials visit vivo smartphone manufacturing plant

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) officials recently visited the smartphone manufacturing plant of the global smartphone manufacturer vivo Bangladesh.

Director General of Spectrum Division of BTRC Brig Gen Shahidul Alam led the BTRC visiting team and expressed satisfaction over the use of the latest global technology in this smartphone manufacturing plant. Product Director of vivo Bangladesh David was also present during the factory visit, the company said in a press release.

Brig Gen Shahidul Alam said, “The security system of the vivo smartphone manufacturing plant is very decent. They also keep their concern eyes on environmental issues.”

“vivo uses state-of-the-art technology in its plant.

They can also set up a Research and Development (R&D) Centre here,” he added while expressing satisfaction over the uses of the latest technology.

Deputy Director of Spectrum Division of BTRC Md Mehfuz Bin Khaled, Assistant Director Md Akramul Haque, and Shahadat Hossain, and DeputyAssistant Director of Spectrum Division Sohana Parvin, among others, were also present during the factory visit.

vivo set up its smartphone manufacturing plant in Narayanganj near Dhaka in 2019. Most of the employees of this factory are Bangladeshi. Almost 20 lakh units of smartphones are assembled and produced in this plant every year, the press release added.
