Kings aim to bounce back in next match: Alauddin

Sports Reporter, Dhaka

Rajshahi Kings fast bowler Alauddin Babu believes that they could be able to bounce back in the next match by overcoming their shortcomings and mistakes what they did in their earlier matches of the ongoing BPL-6.

Without big name’s player or players, Rajshahi Kings stunned all the stronger sides of the BPL including star-studded Dhaka Dynamites, holders Rangpur Riders and well-balanced and consistent Comilla Victorians with their sheer all-round performance especially bowling efforts led by pace spearhead Mustafizur Rahman.

Not to capitalise their powerplay in right way, the Kings could not have scored much on the board.

For this reason, the team could not have put on big total.

“Actually it is being happened daily and that much talk is also being held over it,” said Alauddin Babu, who played his first BPL match against Dhaka Dynamites but picked no wicket despite conceding 53 runs.

“The head coach (Lance Klusener) held talks with us in this regard. He gives us simple target but we could not have succeeded in it as more runs are not being scored in our powerplay. For this we could not put big total on the board,” Babu told media at the post-match press conference at the media block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.

“I hope, we could be overcome in the next four matches we have in the group stage,” he added.

The right-handed medium pacer said that the unbeaten partnership of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat bailed the team out and snatched the victory by handling their bowling efforts in disdain manner.

“The bowling line-up we have and the way we have been playing throughout the tournament with it where we won chasing under 140 runs,” he said.

“Today the score of 157 we made that was a winning total,” he also said.

“But the unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 88 between Mushfiqur Rahim and Mosaddek Hossain was the main pick behind their defeat,” he added.

When asked about the wickets in Mirpur, the pacer said, “After coming from Sylhet, we played match here. Before going to Sylhet, the wicket was one type.”

“But this time, the wicket was different, where bounce is being happened, balls are coming into bat.  With the pace of the tournament, the wicket will be better further and more runs will be scored,” he added.
