BCB to offer special prayer today after safe return of Tigers

Sports Reporter, Dhaka

A special prayer organised by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be offered on the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) premises in Mirpur at 2:00pm today for the safe return of the Bangladesh national cricket team from New Zealand, where a deadly terror attack took place on two mosques that killed 49 people including three Bangladesh origin.

A group of players of Bangladesh team, who wanted to hold their pre-Test practice after offering Friday’s Jumu’ah prayers,  narrowly escaped from an open mass shooting by an right-wing extremist group for just few minutes difference.

Following the brazen terror attack, Bangladesh returned to the country on Saturday’s mid-night without playing their tour-ending third and last Test that was cancelled with an unanimous decision of the both countries cricket boards.

The players upon their arrival in Dhaka safely are now on leave for the next one week.
