The joy knows no bounds for the officials of Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) after Ruman Sana confirming his qualification to play in the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.

Ruman Sana, the number one archer of Bangladesh earned the feat after an outstanding performance in the Hyundai World Archery Championship 2019 at the s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands on June 3.

BAF President Lt Gen (retd) Mainul Islam, BOA Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza, BAF general secretary Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal   Ahmed Chapal, vice-presidents and other officials expressed their happiness over Ruman Sana’s achievement at a press conference at BOA auditorium yesterday.

Chapal when explained his reaction said, “The City Group, who are actually our main strength to go forward set a target for us for five years to be success the “Go for Gold” project, we took only two years to go nearer to reach the goal.”

“It took 15 years to reach in this stage, if we will win bronze in this World Championship it would be great but what the success he achieved is great and the feelings after coming the news is really difficult to express,” said Chapal.

“I was in a hospital in New Delhi and the president of the Indian Olympic Association gave the news. I could not check my emotion as tears roll down my cheek, we are now very nearer to our dream to win gold in the Olympic,” said Chapal.

Rubayet Ahmed, the Brand Ambassador of City Group, who set the target for BAF ‘Teer Go for Gold’ project said, “We are highly inspired with the activities of the archery federation, ‘We qualified for the Olympic and hit a milestone.

Syed Shahed Reza said, “It’s great achievement for us, it is the second time after the independence we qualified straight in Olympic as golfer Siddqur Rahman qualified straight in the Rio Olympic.”

“I am proud of him really, the joy knows no bounds, the feelings is excellent,” said Reza.
