Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday demanded cancellation of recruitment tests for the post of assistant teachers’ in government primary schools that was held on May 24 and 31. Students under the banner of ‘Bangladesh Shadharan Shikkharthi Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad’ of JU unit took part in a human chain programme held on the Central Shahid Minar premises around at 11 am yesterday.

At the programme, they protested the leaking of question papers of the examination and urged the government to take action against the involved perpetrators.

Convener of the student group Shakil Uzzaman said, “The question paper of the test for the post of assistant teachers’ in government primary schools was leaked at a wide range.

Due to such incident, meritorious students have been deprived to get the job.

So the government should cancel the examination and take initiatives for holding further exams’’. Joint Convener Joynul Abedin Shishir said, “The law enforcers have detained 45 people in this connection. Around 23 days have already been passed but actions yet to take against those”. Over 60 students of different departments and institutes were present at the programme.
