Our Correspondent, JU

Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) yesterday formed a human chain demanding the immediate polls of Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU). Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, JU unit formed the human chain in front of the Central Shahid Minar around 11am yesterday.

Speakers at the programme alleged that the university authorities are showing excuses in holding the JUCSU election on the campus.

Convener of the student’ group Shakil Uz Zaman said, “We are the key stakeholder of this university. But it is a matter of regret that we are continuously ignored by the university authorities. They always showed their unwillingness to hold a JUCSU election”.

“The university authorities have been showing different causes for not holding JUCSU polls since last 26 years. Their excuses are now become illogical we do believe’, Joynal Abedin Shishir, joint convener of the student body, said.
