Road crash kills two students in Jashore

Two students of class-X of Dhalirgati Secondary School in Monirampur upazila were killed in a road mishap at Khaitala on Jasshore-Satkhira Highway yesterday morning. The deceased were identified as Ashikur Rahman, 15 and his classmate Al Amin, 15 who were residents of Monirampur.

The accident took place as a Dhaka bound bus of Hanif Paribahan ran over a bicycle of the two while they were returning home from a coaching centre, leaving them critically injured.

Ashikur was declared dead  after he was rushed to Monirampur Upazila Health Complex while Al Amin died on the way to Jashore General Hospital, said Nazrul Islam, uncle of Ashikur Rahman.

Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Monirampur Police Station said agitated students blocked Jashore-Satkhira highway for an hour in protest.
