The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) was held amid satisfaction of the councillors and the delegates yesterday at a resort in Gazipur. The AGM was called after a three-year interval.  Though the councilors had some objections with the audit report and questions about some irregularities, the meeting ended peacefully.

After the AGM both the president of the BFF Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin and Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, who is expecting to contest as BFF president post in next election, expressed their satisfaction in their reaction after the AGM.  BFF president said that he was very much happy to see the cooperation and positive discussion with the development of football.

“I am highly impressed today, to me today it is a real football family, everybody positive, all are get together  here to talking about the development of football, all the councilors expressed their opinion about the development of the country’s football,” said Salahuddin.  “As to develop the country supports from all quarters are very much essential, as well as for the development of football we need the support from the organizers, supporters, players, government and media, all will have to work together,” Salahuddin urged all to support from all quarters.

“For a long what I heard from different side talking, but today I have seen all are here for football, there might have some opposition to make controversy, it happens all over the world, but we have to run avoiding the controversies,” Salahuddin replied to a query.              “There might some diverse with our views or belief but it is very much appreciated that everybody talking about the good for football,” Salahuddin said.

Tarafdar Ruhul Amin while highlighting the summary of the AGM said, “Though we had some questions about the audit report, which has been continuing since 2016, but the observations of the audits were not comply and some vouchers which were submitted in white papers.

But we approved the audit report for greater interest of country’s football making no controversies.”  Tarafdar replying to a query said, “Yes, there were some questions about the irregularities with vouchers in white papers but we also passed it with the condition that it will not repeat in future with submitting correct vouchers as  the senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedi vowed not to repeat the mistake in future.”

Tarafdar replying to a query about the three years gap of holding the AGM, “Actually, AGM, is ‘Annual General Meeting’, but it is organized after three years, but we thanks to BFF that finally they could organize the AGM after our pressure and the conclusion of the AGM was not officially announced by the president.”  “There were also some mistakes in the reports of the general secretary and we identified those and they said that they will make correction,” said Tarafdar.  

But Tarafdar also highly appreciated the BFF when he said, “BFF really deserve thanks as they allow all the councillors who wanted to talk in the AGM. But Badal Roy, the vice-president of the BFF could not speak in the meeting, as BFF denied.” Meanwhile out of 150 councilors and delegates from different associations, clubs, services, 135 attended in the AGM.
