Bangladesh face Scotland in 2nd match today

SPORTS REPORTER, Dhaka

After pulling off an emphatic nine-wicket victory against Zimbabwe in the opening rain-marred encounter, Bangladesh U19 national cricket team will eye to maintain the winning streak when they lock horn with Scotland U19 in their second Group C match of the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup at the Witrand Cricket Field in Potchefstroom, South Africa today.

Before taking on strong Pakistan in the final round robin fixture at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom January 24, the Akbar Ali led side will try to secure two important points beating Scotland to consolidate their position in the Group C points table.

Bangladesh U19 are currently holding the top position with two points and a healthy net run rate of +5.783 while Pakistan U19 sitting right after the young Tigers thrashing Scotland U19 by seven wickets in their first match.

Having a practice session in South Africa, Bangladesh U19 left-arm fast bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury said that, “We always focus to win matches. In the first match we played really well and will try to carry the momentum, consistency to the next match.”

In the first match, Bangladesh outplayed Zimbabwe in some style, chasing down the revised 130-run target in just 68 deliveries with nine wickets in hand.
