Be alert on borders

Home ministry asks law enforcers over COVID-19

The home ministry yesterday issued a 12-point directive to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and other law enforcement agencies to help the government prevent the spread of coronavirous yesterday. The ministry issued a press release in this regards signed by public relation officer of the ministry, Md Sharif Mahmud Apu. The ministry directed the BGB and other agencies to be alert on their parts in preventing outsiders intruding into the country.

The ministry also asked the police force and other law enforcement agencies to conduct awareness programme among the Rohingya people at the camps in Cox’s Bazar. The ministry in its directives asked the police to spray disinfectant liquid on streets and also to conduct awareness programmes on COVID-19.

The home ministry also asked the law enforcement agencies to check criminal activities across the country during the ongoing closure period.  The ministry also asked law enforcement agencies to help the local administration in providing food items to the low income people during the period.
