3 UIU students get Study in Canada Scholarships

Three students of United International University (UIU) have received the Study in Canada Scholarships (SICS) for the academic year 2001-2022, each valued at CAD$10,200, according to a press statement issued by UIU. 

This scholarship is for one exchange semester in Canada and funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), added the statement. 

In addition, one student is in a reserved list for the academic year 2021 – 2022.

 Tasmia Hassan Shabonty, a student of BSCSE, has received the scholarship by the Lakehead University, Canada while Ummay Maria Muna and Fahim Al Awsaf have received the scholarship by the Concordia University of Edmonton, Canada.

Only 50 seats were allocated for 21 countries from Asia, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, and the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

The UIU students won the three out of fifty scholarships through a fierce competition. 

Professor Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, vice-chancellor of UIU, congratulated the winners and encouraged other UIU students to prepare themselves for the upcoming competitions.

Center for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) is a dedicated centre at UIU for internationalisation.

 With the support of CIAC,  the students of UIU  managed three scholarships.

 The main goal of the establishment of CIAC is to enhance international collaboration of UIU.

CIAC acts as a bridge between UIU and other renowned global institutions. Team CIAC-UIU is led by Professor  Dr. Khawza I. Ahmed, director, with the support from Jennifer Hossain, assistant director, and Md. Faruque Miah, senior executive.
